  • About the Office of the Chief Financial Officer

Paige Hallen Hanson

The Honorable Paige Hallen Hanson was nominated by President Trump on February 12, 2025, and confirmed by the U.S. Senate on August 2, 2025, to serve as Chief Financial Officer of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. In this role, she manages nearly $100 billion in assets and leads a team of more than 300 with responsibility for EPA’s annual budget and performance plans, financial operations, and financial information systems. Additionally, the Chief Financial Officer directs strategic planning and policy development efforts and oversees the EPA’s continuous improvement efforts, and the agency’s evidence and evaluation activities. Mrs. Hanson previously served at the EPA as Associate Chief Financial Officer for Policy.

Prior to her current role, she served as a private sector CFO and as senior policy and funding staff in Congress, including on the Senate Budget Committee, the Joint Economic Committee, and for a Senate Appropriator. She enjoys working in the financial space because of the practical way it helps others.

She holds an MBA from Virginia Tech and an undergraduate degree in Government and Economics from Wofford College.
