About the Office of the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (OGGRF)
What We Do
OGGRF is charged with implementing Section 60103 of Public Law 117-169, commonly known as the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. Under the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, OGGRF develops, implements, and oversees a series of competitive awards programs that support deployment of projects to reduce or avoid emissions of greenhouse gases and other air pollutants, with a particular emphasis on low-income and disadvantaged communities.
EPA has identified three overarching Program Objectives for the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund, as derived from the statute: to (1) reduce emissions of greenhouse gases and other air pollutants; (2) deliver benefits to American communities, particularly low-income and disadvantaged communities; and (3) mobilize financing and private capital to stimulate additional deployment of greenhouse gas and air pollution reducing projects.
Programs and Projects Managed by OGGRF
The Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund is being implemented via three programs:
- The Solar for All Competition, which will award $7 billion in competitive grants
- The National Clean Investment Fund, which will award $14 billion in competitive grants; and
- The Clean Communities Investment Accelerator, which will award $6 billion in competitive grants.
