Description

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), in cooperation with the New Mexico Environment Department, will hold a community meeting for the Eagle Picher Carefree Battery Superfund Site.

We will update the community on the soil and groundwater cleanup activities at the Site. Significant cleanup work has been accomplished in the Source Area since September 2023. Additional progress made towards groundwater remedy design will also be discussed.

If you have any technical questions about the site, please contact Sai Appaji, EPA Remedial Project Manager, at (214) 665-2704 or appaji.sai@epa.gov. You will have the opportunity to talk directly with agency representatives in an informal setting. We welcome your participation.

This meeting is being held in a fully accessible facility. Should you have any specific needs or questions about the facility, please contact Michael Morrison, EPA Community Involvement Coordinator, at (214) 899-0111, 800-533-3508 (toll-free), or morrison.michael@epa.gov.
