Public Notice: Electro-Voice Superfund Site Five-Year Review
Summary
EPA is conducting a five-year review of the Electro Voice Superfund site. The Superfund law requires regular checkups of sites that have been cleaned up – with waste managed on-site – to make sure the cleanup continues to protect people and the environment.
EPA’s cleanup of VOC contamination at the former sound equipment manufacturing company consisted of a clay cap over the lagoons, in-place ventilation for the dry well area soil and on-property groundwater, long-term monitoring, and limits on use of the site and access to the site. Construction of the site’s long-term remedy finished in 1999. Groundwater remediation is ongoing through monitored natural attenuation of pollutants.
The review should be completed by June.
