Public Notice: EPA Begins Sixth Review of Chem-Dyne Superfund Site
Summary
EPA is conducting a five-year review of the Chem-Dyne site located at 500 Joe Nuxhall Blvd., Hamilton, Ohio. The Superfund law requires regular checkups of sites that have been cleaned up or where cleanup has been ongoing for at least five years – with waste managed on-site – to make sure the cleanup continues to protect people and the environment. This is the sixth five-year review of this site.
EPA’s cleanup at the site consisted of demolishing buildings on-site, excavating and disposing of contaminated soil in “hot spot areas”, installing a protective cap over remaining contaminated soils, and installing a groundwater extraction-injection system.
More information is available at the Chem-Dyne site webpage. The review is expected to be completed in February of 2026.
The five-year review is an opportunity for you to tell EPA about site conditions and any concerns you have.
