EPA Seeks Comments on Modification of Fluid Injection Permits

Comments must be submitted in writing. You may also submit a written request for a public hearing on the modified permits. Any such request must be in writing and state the issues to be raised at a hearing, if held. You may submit your comments and any requests for a hearing, identified by Docket ID No. EPA-R05-OW-2025-2832 on or before February 25, 2026. Please identify the Docket ID No. EPA-R05-OW-2025-2832 at the beginning of your comments.

All data submitted by the applicant is available as part of the administrative record. You may review the modified permits at EPA webpage.

Summary

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is accepting comments on its proposed approval of modifications to two injection well permits for Republic Services of Michigan I, LLC (Republic), 28800 Clark Road, Wayne County, Michigan. The existing permit is for two injection wells, IW 1-36N, and IW 2-36E that Republic uses to inject non-hazardous liquid waste from the Carleton Farms Landfill.
