Preparing a complete petition

Submitting a petition

There are two options for submitting a petition to the EPA. The first option is to submit the petition via EPA's secure online portal, the CDX DCFUEL reporting system, which provides an encrypted delivery method designed to handle confidential business information. The other option is to submit the petition via email to rfspathways@epa.gov. Below is additional information and resources about each submission option.

• Option 1: Submit the petition via the CDX DCFUEL reporting system

  • Parties that submit a petition via DCFUEL must select “RFS Pathway Petitions (40 CFR 80.1416)” on the Certify Reports page.
  • Parties that submit a petition via DCFUEL are strongly encouraged to send an email to rfspathways@epa.gov with the DCFUEL submission date and identification number to ensure the petition is received by the appropriate staff at EPA in a timely manner.
