Rebecca (Becki) Clark, MPH

Becki Clark is the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Executive Lead for the Office of Research and Development’s (ORD) role as National Program Manager for Regional Laboratories. Working closely with partners from the regions, ORD, and EPA’s headquarters offices, she is responsible for increasing collaboration and coordination across the Agency’s laboratory enterprise. She leads efforts to set the strategic operational direction for core laboratory operations, align the budget, and evaluate the performance of the regional laboratories in providing high quality, timely analytical services to the Agency, states, Tribes, and local communities.

Becki started her career at EPA in 1985 as an Environmental Protection Specialist in the Office of Policy, Planning and Evaluation (now the Office of Policy), and she subsequently gained experience working as an Analyst, Team Leader, Branch Chief, Division Director, Deputy Office Director, and Acting Center Director. She has an impressive resume of leadership across EPA, including ORD, the Office of Environmental Information, the Office of Land and Emergency Management, and the Office of Water.

She has contributed to a varied, diverse set of accomplishments, from listing and remediating National Priorities List sites, completing human health risk assessments for important contaminants like dioxin and trichloroethylene, responding to the public health crisis of lead-contaminated drinking water in Flint, Michigan, to the most recent emergency removal of lead-contaminated soil in East Chicago, Indiana. Throughout her career, Becki has helped establish the next generation of leaders at EPA by mentoring individuals, establishing support groups for first-line supervisors, and providing tools and career growth opportunities.

Becki’s education includes a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Public Health from Michigan State University.
