AVERT Tutorial: Technical Requirements

To run the AVERT Main Module, computers running Windows must have Excel 2007 or newer. The AVERT Main Module also works with Excel 2011 for Mac. Macros must be enabled.

You can use the Main Module to estimate displaced emissions for energy programs in a historic base year. To estimate displaced emissions for scenarios that you create for future years, you will also need AVERT’s Statistical Module and Future Year Scenario Template.

Files generated in the Main Module can exceed 100 MB in size, depending on the number of units in the region of analysis. Analyzing data for large regions may take over 10 minutes to process on some computers. The model will run faster on computers with more RAM and higher-speed processors.
