Notice of Determination to Deny Certain Petitions - signed 3/21/2023

This notification, signed on March 21, 2023, alerts the public of the Agency’s decision to deny two petitions under subsection (i) of the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act of 2020.

Notice of Determination to Grant or Partially Grant Certain Petitions - signed 9/19/2022

This notice, signed on September 19, 2022, alerts the public of the Agency’s decision to grant two petitions under subsection (i) of the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act of 2020. The Agency is also using this notice to inform the public of how it will treat two additional submissions under this subsection. Subsection (i) of the AIM Act facilitates the transition to next-generation technologies through sector-based restrictions.

Consideration of Negotiated Rulemaking for Petitions Granted or Partially Granted - signed 10/07/2021

This notice, published in December 2021, informs the public of the Agency’s consideration of the negotiated rulemaking procedure provided for under the Negotiated Rulemaking Act of 1990, and the Agency’s decision to not use these procedures for a rulemaking under subsection (i) of the American Innovation and Manufacturing Act of 2020 that will address ten petitions that were granted and one petition that was partially granted by the Agency under this subsection on October 7, 2021.

Notice of Determination to Grant or Partially Grant Certain Petitions Submitted - signed 10/07/2021

This notice, published in October 2021, alerts the public of the Administrator’s decision to grant in full ten petitions and partially grant one petition submitted under subsection (i) of the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act of 2020. Subsection (i) of the AIM Act facilitates the transition to next-generation technologies through sector-based restrictions. These petitions request that EPA restrict the use of HFCs in refrigeration and air conditioning, aerosols, and foams sectors.
