6. What must be reported for pesticide-producing and device-producing establishments?

Products for which producers must report production and distribution information include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Registered Pesticides
  • Active ingredients used to produce a pesticide
  • Unregistered pesticides
  • Pesticides produced for research and development, including both those with or without an experimental use permit
  • Special Local Need pesticide authorized for use under Section 24(c) of FIFRA
  • Pesticides produced for export only
  • Devices, including those using ozone, ultraviolet light or air filters for removing pests such as mold spores, dust mites, bacteria or viruses

For each product, the producer must submit the following (round all amounts to the nearest whole number):

  • Types and amounts produced in the past calendar year
  • Types and amounts sold/distributed in the past calendar year, regardless of when the product was produced
  • An estimate of the amount expected to be produced in the current year

Where indicated and applicable, individual products may be identified by the following:

  • The product name unique to the pesticide or device
  • EPA Registration Number (or EPA File Symbol, if any, for planned products)
  • Experimental Permit Number, if the pesticide is produced under an Experimental Use Permit
  • Active ingredients used to produce a pesticide
  • In cases where a pesticide is not registered, registration is not applied for, or the pesticide is not produced under an Experimental Use Permit, producers must also include the chemical formulation.

Other information required to be reported includes:

  • Production type (technical, formulation, repackaging, etc.)
  • Market for which the product was produced (domestic, foreign, etc.)

It is unlawful to knowingly falsify all or part of any application, information, records and reports submitted to EPA under any provision of FIFRA. If you need further assistance or have additional questions for reporting, please contact your appropriate pesticide establishment coordinator.
