Training Video

This presentation covers pretreatment and biosolids permit requirements and associated federal regulations, as well as standard and special conditions for POTWs.

Presenter

Dan Connally is a Vice President of ERG, and provides technical oversight for PG’s NPDES programmatic support. Mr. Connally has 22 years of experience in the NPDES permit development and the enforcement Clean Water Act (CWA) regulations. Dan has personally been involved in the development of over 250 municipal and industrial NPDES permits and provided oversight of a permitting team that has assisted with the development of nearly 1,000 NPDES permits. Dan currently serves as one of the lead instructors for EPA’s NPDES Permit Writers’ Training course, and provides advanced NPDES permit writer training. He also serves as a credentialed NPDES compliance inspector.

Bob Brobst is a Principal Environmental Engineer with expertise in the treatment and use of biosolids. He joined PG after 28 years as a senior environmental engineer at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Denver. Bob’s responsibilities at EPA included serving as Regional Biosolids Program Manager, Co Chair of EPA’s Pathogen Equivalency Committee, and National Subject Matter Expert for bio-solids. He has performed inspections and process evaluations of wastewater facilities and biosolids land-application sites for the last 30 years. He holds an M.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado-Denver and is a registered Professional Engineer.

Chuck Durham is a Principal Engineer and Senior Project Manager, and serves as the leader of PG’s Pretreatment & Community Assistance practice area. Mr. Durham has over 30 years of regulatory experience in the water pollution control field, with emphasis on the federal pretreatment program, serving clients at the federal, state, municipal, and industrial level. He has provided pretreatment technical support to nine EPA Regions and 25 States, and conducted over 550 audits and inspections. Chuck has served as an instructor for numerous EPA-sponsored training courses. Previously, he served as a Program Manager for the Tennessee Division of Water Pollution Control. Mr. Durham is the Chair of the KY-TN Water Environment Associations’ Pretreatment Certification Committee.
