Training Video

This webinar discusses the history of the CMOM (capacity, management, operations, and maintenance) approach for wastewater collection systems including proposed federal regulations under the Clean Water Act (CWA). It also gives background on EPA Region 4’s Management, Operation, and Maintenance (MOM) Programs Project, which uses EPA’s self-audit policy to bring wastewater collection systems into compliance with the CWA and the goal of eliminating Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSOs). Finally, the presenter gives information on other EPA Regions and State Environmental Agencies using the MOM Programs Project approach and/or innovative NPDES permitting approaches.

Date of Recording: August 29, 2024 (1-2:30 pm Eastern)

Brad Ammons works in the Atlanta office of the US EPA in the Water Enforcement Branch. After graduating from Auburn University with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, he took on a full-time job at EPA Region 4 in the Clean Water Act Enforcement Section. Brad has experience in virtually all CWA arenas, including storm water, CSO/SSO, biosolids, Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFO), Pretreatment, and traditional municipal and industrial NPDES. He also has 2 years experience at EPA in the Underground Injection Control (UIC) program under the Safe Drinking Water Act. Brad has been Region 4’s CMOM/CSO/SSO workgroup leader since 2008. He celebrated 30 years at EPA Region 4 earlier this summer.
