Approved CROMERR Applications from States, Local Government Agencies, and Tribes (excluding POTWs)

The table below lists the approved CROMERR systems for States, Tribes, and Local Agencies, excluding Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTWs). 

Please note:

•  System names may be working names or the name of the off-the-shelf product used for the system; the state, local governmental agency, Tribe may have other names for the system.
• EPA approval of a CROMERR application does not necessarily reflect a system's availability nor the ability to submit particular regulatory information electronically. 
• EPA publishes notices regarding the approval of CROMERR applications for non-POTWs in the Federal Register.

Approved CROMERR Applications from POTWs

The table below lists the CROMERR applications approved by EPA from Publicly Owned Treatment Works (POTWs). Please note:

• EPA approval of a CROMERR application does not necessarily reflect a system's availability nor the ability to submit particular regulatory information electronically.
• CROMERR compliance is only one part of the requirements for POTW Pretreatment program implementing electronic reporting. 40 CFR part 403 contains other requirements that must be met before electronic reporting can begin.

[40 CFR 403.3(c)] which, in these cases, is the state in which the POTW is located, following Pretreatment Program procedures under 40 CFR part 403. EPA's website lists states with Pretreatment Program Implementation authority. 
• For POTWs in which EPA is the Approval Authority, the POTW Pretreatment Program's modification request is submitted to the appropriate EPA Regional Office, and approval to begin collecting electronic reports is provided by the EPA Region.
• EPA does not publish CROMERR approvals for POTWs in the Federal Register.

List of States with an Existing Legal Certification

The CROMERR program analyzed approved Attorney General (AG) certifications on file, determining many of them to be broadly applicable for use by state-level agencies that may be preparing new CROMERR applications. States have two options to streamline CROMERR application review and preparation time: 

1) Reference generic, approved CROMERR Attorney General (AG) certifications on file, or

2) Supplement approved CROMERR AG certifications on file that are limited in state agency or program scope. 

The AG Certifications is a key part of any CROMERR application; it demonstrates an authorized program's ability to enforce electronically-collected regulatory information. Guidelines for CROMERR legal certifications are located on the CROMERR website.

EPA's assessment determined that these state certifications could qualify as broadly applicable with the addition of a simple supplementary statement Attorney General.
