The Safety Data Sheet for the product provided by the submitter on April 28, 2026.
(6) Product storage [§ 300.915(a)(6)]
1. Maximum storage temperature (e.g., oF and/or oC): 140oF
2. Minimum storage temperature (e.g., oF and/or oC): 35oF
3. Optimum storage temperature (e.g., oF and/or oC): 40 to 95oF
4. Humidity (e.g., g/kg): 1 to 100%
5. Other relevant conditions for product storage: Keep the product from freezing. Store with cap tightly closed on container until ready for use.
6. Description of the consequences to performance if product is not stored within these limits: The product may freeze if held below 32oF and is susceptible to spoilage at temperatures above 146oF.
(7) Shelf life storage conditions [§ 300.915(a)(7)]
Fireman's Brand Spillclean® has a shelf life of two years or more. This time-period is based on two factors:
1. The manufacturer reviewed the confirmed shelf life determined by the manufacturer of the constituent components that comprise Fireman's Brand Spillclean® and we took the lowest shelf-life value from each component and applied to Fireman's Brand Spillclean®.
2. The manufacturer reviewed twenty-one years of storage data with no evidence of changes to the product.
(8) Product label [§ 300.915(a)(8)]
A sample product label for all name(s), brand(s), and/or trademark(s) under which the product is to be sold that includes manufacture and expiration dates, and conditions for storage was provided by the submitter on April 28, 2026.
(9) Product category and processes [§ 300.915(a)(9)]
Fireman’s Brand Spillclean® is to be considered under the "Surface Washing Agent" category. It is designed to emulsify all petroleum spills on any hard surfaces, including, but not limited to: crude oil, motor oil, gasolene, anti-freeze, hydraulic fluid, brake fluid, and more. Additionally, Fireman's Brand Spillclean® has been laboratory-tested to perform on adjoining surfaces to fresh water and saltwater shorelines.
(10) Recommended product use procedures [§ 300.915(a)(10)]

1. Application Method: Apply the product directly from the container to the spill. Thoroughly mix the product into the oil material using a hand-held broom or brush. When the original color becomes opaque, the spill has been emulsified. Flush the mixture with hose water. If the oil seeps into the pores of the hard surface, repeat the application and mixing process.

2. Concentration / Application Rate: Use product at full strength (no dilution required). Use one part product to approximately one part spill (exact measurement not required).

3. Conditions for Use: Use at temperatures between 33oF and 140oF; and keep product from freezing.

  • Application Restrictions: Do not mix the product with any other cleaner or allow other cleaners to contact affected surfaces while product is in use.
  • Containment, Collection, Recovery, and Disposal: Use a boom or other containment prior to product application to prevent the spill from spreading or possibly reaching open water. An oil boom, in the context of oil removal, is a temporary, floating barrier designed to contain, divert, or absorb oil spills on water. These devices act as a first line of defense to stop the spread of oil, protecting shorelines and concentrating the oil into thicker layers, which makes it easier to remove using other equipment like skimmers. Use of a broom to push the spill in the direction of the containment may help control the spread to another location. Dispose of the collected oil and product mixture according to federal, state, and local regulations.
(11) Environmental fate of components [§ 300.915(a)(11)]
The submitter provided available information on environmental fate, including any known measured data, methodologies, and supporting documentation, on the persistence, bioconcentration factor, bioaccumulation factor, and biodegradability of the product and all of its components in the environment on April 28, 2026. Components of Fireman's Brand Spillclean® are readily biodegradable by aerobic organisms in soil and water in one to two days, with low potential for bioaccumulation. The alkaline component of Fireman's Brand Spillclean® is immediately neutralized by acids in the environment. Aerobic or anaerobic degradation by microorganisms range from a few days to one hundred days, depending on other factors, such as temperature and pH.
