(6) Product storage [§ 300.915(a)(6)]
  1. Maximum storage temperature (e.g., oF and/or oC): 120oF (49oC)

  3. Optimum storage temperature (e.g., oF and/or oC): 50oF to 100oF (10oC to 38oC)
  4. Humidity (e.g., g/kg): No specific humidity requirements have been established. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area to minimize moisture intrusion and maintain product integrity.
  5. Other relevant conditions for product storage:
    • Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.
    • Store in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area.
    • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
    • Avoid prolonged exposure to temperatures above 120oF (49oC).
    • Protect from freezing temperatures.
    • Store away from strong oxidizing agents and other incompatible materials.
    • Store only in the original unopened container or in compatible containers constructed of:
      • Plastic-lined steel.
      • Plastic.
      • Glass.
      • Aluminum.
      • Stainless steel.
      • Reinforced fiberglass.
  6. Description of the consequences to performance if the product is not stored within these limits:
    • Storage outside the recommended conditions may adversely affect product performance. Potential effects may include:
      • Product degradation.
      • Increased viscosity.
      • Phase separation.
      • Reduced surfactant performance.
      • Reduced oil release and lift and float efficiency.
      • Loss of product uniformity.
    • Exposure to temperatures above 120oF (49oC) or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may reduce product performance.
    • Storage below 30oF (-1oC) may alter viscosity or cause phase separation.
    • Product performance should be evaluated before use if recommended storage conditions have been exceeded.
    • GTS-Oil Recovery is normally packaged and distributed in 5-gallon pails, 55-gallon drums, and 275-gallon totes.
(7) Shelf life storage conditions [§ 300.915(a)(7)]
Three years minimum shelf life when stored in the original unopened container between 50oF and 100oF (10oC to 38oC). Documentation for this determination was provided by the submitter on August 13, 2026.
(8) Product label [§ 300.915(a)(8)]
A sample product label for all name(s), brand(s), and/or trademark(s) under which the product is to be sold that includes manufacture and expiration dates, and conditions for storage was provided by the submitter on August 13, 2026.
(9) Product category and processes [§ 300.915(a)(9)]
GTS-Oil Recovery is a surface washing agent designed to lift, loosen, and float petroleum hydrocarbons from contaminated substrates, allowing the oil to be separated and recovered. The product works by reducing the adhesion of oil to solids and releasing the oil layer so it can be washed off, contained, and physically recovered. GTS-Oil Recovery is intended for use in saltwater environments affected by crude oil and refined petroleum products. The product is typically applied as a diluted aqueous solution by spray, pressure wash, or similar equipment. Following application, the loosened oil is floated and contained using booms, skimmers, or other recovery systems. GTS-Oil Recovery mobilizes oil from contaminated surfaces to allow physical collection and removal, minimizing long-term contamination and enabling recovery of hydrocarbons for reuse or proper disposal.
(10) Recommended product use procedures [§ 300.915(a)(10)]
  1. Application Method: GTS-Oil Recovery is applied directly to oil-contaminated solid surfaces using low-pressure spray equipment, manual sprayers, brushes, rollers, or other appropriate surface application tools based on site conditions. The product functions through a detergency mechanism, reducing the adhesion of petroleum hydrocarbons to contaminated solid substrates and using its lift and float mechanism to release, lift, and float the oil for subsequent containment and mechanical recovery. Typical application surfaces include shorelines, rocks, metals, concrete, equipment, and other hard or semi-porous solid substrates impacted by oil.
  2. Concentration/Application Rate: GTS-Oil Recovery may be applied neat or diluted with water, depending on oil type, thickness, weathering state, and surface characteristics. Application rates are adjusted based on site-specific conditions and observed oil release from the surface. Typical application ranges include the following:
    • 1:1 to 10:1 (water to product ratio) for lighter residues or maintenance cleaning.
    • Neat to 1:5 dilution for heavier or weathered oils.
  3. Conditions for Use: GTS-Oil Recovery is intended for application to oil-contaminated solid surfaces and is not intended for direct application to open-water oil slicks. Performance may vary depending on ambient and surface temperature; weather conditions; salinity of adjacent water; type of oil and degree of weathering; and surface type and porosity. Adequate contact time should be allowed for the product to act on the oil prior to recovery operations.
    • Application must be conducted to minimize transfer of oil or product into the water column.
    • Use must be consistent with applicable response plans, regulatory approvals, and site- specific safety requirements.
    • Application should be discontinued if effective containment and recovery cannot be maintained.
  4. Containment, collection, recovery, and disposal: Containment measures should be established prior to application whenever practical to facilitate the recovery of released hydrocarbons. Appropriate containment measures, such as booms, barriers, absorbents, skimmers, or other physical recovery systems, should be implemented to prevent the migration of released oil beyond the treatment area. Released oil should be recovered using mechanical methods appropriate for the site, including vacuum systems, skimmers, absorbents, or manual collection techniques. Recovered oil, residual product, and associated waste materials should be handled, transported, and disposed of in accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
(11) Environmental fate of components [§ 300.915(a)(11)]
At this time, no product-specific environmental fate studies have been conducted for GTS-Oil Recovery that quantify persistence, biodegradability, bioaccumulation, or related environmental fate parameters. GTS-Oil Recovery is submitted for use as a surface washing agent, intended for application to oil-contaminated solid surfaces, where released oil and product are contained, collected, and recovered following application. Use procedures are designed to minimize dissolution, dispersion, or transfer of product or oil into the water column, consistent with the functional definition of a surface washing agent under 40 CFR § 300.5. Accordingly, no additional environmental fate data is available beyond the information provided in the safety data sheet and product use procedures.

(19) Production volumes [§ 300.915(a)(19)]
GTS-Oil Recovery is produced on a demand basis through established manufacturing arrangements with scalable production capabilities. Based on current production operations, capacity, and typical scheduling, the below estimates apply. 

Annual production volume: 100,000 gallons per year, with the ability to scale based on demand.

Average and maximum amount that could be produced in a day: Approximately 2 totes per day (equivalent to approximately 550 gallons per day, based on 275-gallon totes). Production cycle time is approximately 4 hours per tote, from start to finish under standard operating conditions. 

Time frame needed to reach that maximum production rate in days: 1 to 3 days, depending on raw material availability and production scheduling. Raw materials supplied directly by ITS Environmental are typically delivered to the blender within 1 to 3 days. Additional materials sourced from third-party suppliers may vary depending on supplier availability. Production operations are structured to allow for flexible scaling to support project-specific requirements and emergency response situations.
