In accordance with Executive Order 14224 (in English), which designates English as the official language of the United States, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is reviewing and updating, as necessary, its language access policies and procedures. This webpage and documents will be updated when new materials are available.
Pursuant to a permanent injunction issued by the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana on August 22, 2024, EPA will not impose or enforce any disparate impact or cumulative impact analysis requirements under Title VI against any entity in the State of Louisiana. The Case Resolution Manual provides guidelines of procedural information to case managers within the Office of Civil Rights and Adjudication's External Civil Rights Division to ensure EPA’s prompt, effective, and efficient resolution of civil rights complaints and compliance reviews consistent with federal civil rights laws and the EPA’s mission – to protect human health and the environment for all people. It is designed to be a living document that reflects the latest and best practices.
