EPA Sustainability Plans

Strategic plans help EPA meet federal sustainability requirements and its own internal goals to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, resource use and other environmental impacts.

EPA’s Sustainability Plans identify targets for reducing agencywide GHG emissions and outlines steps to reduce energy, water, waste and other resource use. It also addresses ways the agency will incorporate sustainability across its facilities, purchases and operations. Goal areas include:

Carbon pollution-free electricity
Right sized vehicle fleet
Energy and water efficient buildings
Waste management and diversion
Sustainable procurement
Accelerating progress through partnerships
