Facility Resilience Considerations and the Hazardous Waste Cleanup Process
On February 6, 2024, EPA issued a memorandum with recommendations for EPA regions and authorized states about how to work with hazardous waste facility owners and operators to integrate consideration of resilience to weather impacts into the hazardous waste cleanup process. This integration will help protect human health and the environment by ensuring that hazardous waste cleanups remain effective and prevent the migration of hazardous waste or constituents.
We accepted comments on the draft memorandum through November 17, 2023. We received a few comments and made some changes to the memo in response to those comments. Read the final memorandum.
