Mercury Study Report to Congress
EPA's Report to Congress on Mercury is an eight volume document. The report provides an assessment of the magnitude of U.S. mercury emissions by source, the health and environmental implications of those emissions, and the availability and cost of control technologies. As the state-of-the-science for mercury is continuously and rapidly evolving, this report should be viewed as a "snapshot" of our understanding of mercury when published in 1997.
The eight volumes of the December 1997 report are:
- Volume I: Executive Summary (pdf)
- Volume II: An Inventory of Anthropogenic Mercury Emissions in the United States (pdf)
- Volume III: Fate and Transport of Mercury in the Environment (pdf)
- Volume IV: An Assessment of Exposure to Mercury in the United States (pdf)
- Volume V: Health Effects of Mercury and Mercury Compounds (pdf)
- Volume VI: An Ecological Assessment for Anthropogenic Mercury Emissions in the United States (pdf)
- Volume VII: Characterization of Human Health and Wildlife Risks from Mercury Exposure in the United States (pdf)
- Volume VIII: An Evaluation of Mercury Control Technologies and Costs (pdf)
