BOSTON (October 20, 2026) - U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is seeking proposals from eligible entities for approximately eight awards totaling $5.3 million in innovative restoration grant funding under EPA's Southeast New England Program (SNEP). Funding from this opportunity will support priorities related to coastal watershed restoration across southeast New England.

"Southeast New England's coastal communities are vital to the region's economy and way of life," said EPA Regional Administrator Mark Sanborn. "By investing in innovative, cost-effective restoration projects, EPA is helping to protect clean water, strengthen local economies, and ensure these important coastal resources can be enjoyed for generations to come."

Clean water for all Americans is part of the first pillar of Administrator Zeldin's Powering the Great American Comeback initiative. This grant opportunity reflects this ongoing commitment and support for continued innovation in southeast New England through the effective use of taxpayer dollars.

EPA SNEP's Innovative Restoration Grants will emphasize the development and application of innovative policies, science, and technology to support restoration efforts in the region. EPA expects to select approximately eight projects for awards. The 2026 Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) is available on grants.gov and proposals must be submitted by December 11, 2026, 11:59 pm ET.
