EPA to Hold May 1 Public Meeting for East Troy Contaminated Aquifer Superfund Site in Troy, Ohio
Presenters will highlight upcoming soil cleanup and answer questions
CHICAGO (April 24, 2025) – On Thursday, May 1, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will hold a public meeting to discuss an upcoming short-term soil cleanup at the East Troy Contaminated Aquifer Superfund site in Troy, Ohio. Representatives from the EPA will speak and take questions and Ohio EPA will assist answering questions.

Troy, Ohio
Site preparation activities are planned to begin the week of May 19, near the intersection of North Clay St. and East Water St. Excavation work is scheduled to begin after Memorial Day weekend. Soil excavation will remove volatile organic compound contamination outside the former Hobart building. This includes transporting excavated soils off-property for disposal at a permitted facility, backfilling with clean materials, restoring the site using imported soil and placing asphalt.
