WASHINGTON — U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today launched a new webpage and video highlighting the agency's reform, reorganization, and savings, showing how EPA is delivering its core mission faster while returning taxpayer dollars.

EPA Agency Reform video

“For too long, EPA’s budget grew while the agency fell behind on its core statutory work. Since President Trump was sworn back into office, we have flipped that,” said EPA Administrator Lee Zeldin. “We’re delivering clean air, land, and water faster than ever and returning billions to the taxpayers who fund this agency. That’s what accountability looks like.”

Prior to the Trump administration taking office, EPA spending climbed while core statutory work fell behind, leaving backlogs across the agency. Since January 2025, EPA has cut costs across grants, contracts, staffing, real estate, technology, and travel, including $30 billion in canceled grants, roughly $825 million a year in reduced contracting obligations, and about $750 million a year from staffing efficiencies and reorganization.

At the same time, EPA reorganized to put scientists at the center of the agency, standing up the Office of Applied Science and Environmental Solutions (OASES), adding more than 130 scientific and technical experts to clear chemical and pesticide review backlogs, and creating a one-stop Office of Finance and Administration. Looking ahead, the agency's Superfund Solutions initiative, launched in May 2026, is focused on getting contaminated sites to the finish line faster.
