Guide to CRP for Pesticides

The packages included in the guide are done so with the permission of the package manufacturer. Packages are designated as child-resistant solely on the basis of the manufacturers' claims. EPA has not reviewed the manufacturers' test data on CRP as a prerequisite for inclusion in the guide. The appearance of a package in this publication is not intended in any manner to denote approval, certification, or endorsement of the package by the EPA. This publication is not a comprehensive listing of all CRP. The CRP in this guide are not the only ones which may be used for products under the EPA jurisdiction. Rather the inclusion or exclusion of a package as CRP in this guide is based only on information voluntarily provided by the package manufacturer.

It is the responsibility of a pesticide registrant to determine whether a particular package meets the EPA's CRP regulations (40 CFR 157.32) based on the pesticide product with which it would be used. It is the responsibility of a pesticide registrant to determine the suitability of a package for use in a given situation.

Each column in this table is sortable, allowing you to easily look for any of the four types of information. The table is based on the ASTM classification standard for child-resistant packaging (CRP). ASTM International is a voluntary standards organization. The ASTM classification D3475-14, “Standard Classification of Child-Resistant Packages,” uses a uniform set of terminology to describe various types of child-resistant packaging. More information on the categories in this table is available at Child-Resistant Packaging for Pesticides; see Quick Reference Guide to Child-Resistant Packaging.
