EPA Announces Ad Hoc Experts for Consideration for the FIFRA Scientific Advisory Panel PBPK Meeting, October 24-27, 2017

On June 6, 2017, EPA published a Federal Register Notice (FRL–9962–78) seeking nominees to serve as ad hoc experts for the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act Scientific Advisory Panel (FIFRA SAP) on Physiologically Based Pharmacokinetic (PBPK) Modeling at www.regulations.gov (Docket # EPA-HQ-OPP-2017-0180). The meeting was also announced and will be held on October 24-27, 2017 in Arlington, VA, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

EPA is publishing candidates’ names and biographical information on the SAP website. The comment period will be from August 7 through August 21, 2017.  All comments will be posted publicly on www.regulations.gov (EPA-HQ-OPP-2017-0180).   

The purpose of the Panel is to serve as the primary scientific peer review mechanism of EPA’s Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention and is structured to provide scientific advice, information and recommendations to the EPA Administrator on pesticides and pesticide-related issues as to the impact of regulatory actions on health and the environment. The selected Panel will comprise various expertise and professional qualifications, including:  statistics, pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) modeling, in vitro to in vivo extrapolation, human health risk assessment, neurotoxicity, organophosphate and pyrethroid pesticides, N-methyl carbamate pesticides, fungicides, acetylcholinesterase inhibition, and exposure assessment.
