EPA to Host Webinar on Best Practices for Antimicrobial Product Registration
Released on March 5, 2024
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is hosting a webinar on March 20, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. EDT on the pesticide registration process for antimicrobial products.
Antimicrobial pesticides are intended to disinfect, sanitize, reduce, or slow growth of microbiological organisms including bacteria, viruses, and fungi. There are many components to a pesticide registration application for these products, and this webinar is intended to help companies submit complete, high-quality antimicrobial registration applications. Sharing best practices with registrants will also help make EPA’s review more efficient.
Experts from EPA’s Office of Pesticide Programs will:
- Provide an overview of the pesticide registration process under the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act;
- Provide information on what to do before applying for antimicrobial product registration;
- Discuss how to prepare Confidential Statements of Formula as well as various other documents and forms that need to be submitted to the Agency;
- Discuss non-PRIA submissions (i.e., notifications and fast track amendments under PRN 98-10);
- Share examples of submission cover letters and common labeling issues as well as information on efficacy data, and registration review.
