November 6, 2017, Virtual Meeting on the Charge Questions for the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act Scientific Advisory Panel (FIFRA SAP) Meeting on Endocrine Disruption

For Release: October 25, 2017

EPA will hold a virtual FIFRA SAP meeting on the charge questions on the “Continuing Development of Alternative High-Throughput Screens to Determine Endocrine Disruption, focusing on Androgen Receptor, Steroidogenesis, and Thyroid Pathways.” This virtual meeting will be held on November 6, 2017, from approximately 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. via Adobe Connect.

The virtual meeting will provide an opportunity to hear from the panel and the public on the draft charge questions and then determine if any edits are needed to the charge in advance of the in-person SAP November 28-30, 2017, meeting on High-Throughput Screens to Determine Endocrine Disruption.

Registration, up to noon on November 1, 2017, is required to request making oral comments during the meeting. You can register at any time to listen in on the meeting. Written comments on the scope and clarity of the draft charge questions should also be submitted to docket EPA-HQ-OPP-2017-0214  by noon on November 1. The FIFRA SAP may not be able to fully consider written comments submitted after noon on November 1.

Supporting documents, including the current charge questions, for the November 28-30 FIFRA SAP meeting are currently posted at www.regulations.gov (Docket: EPA-HQ-OPP-2017-0214).  For additional information, contact the Designated Federal Official, Dr. Todd Peterson, via email at peterson.todd@epa.gov or by telephone at 202-564-6428.

The FIFRA SAP serves as the primary scientific peer review mechanism of EPA’s Office of Chemical Safety and Pollution Prevention (OCSPP) and is structured to provide scientific advice, information and recommendations to the EPA Administrator on pesticides and pesticide-related issues as to the impact of regulatory actions on health and the environment.
