Fee Waivers and Exemptions
There are three categories of fee waivers and exemptions:
- Waivers for small businesses.
- Inter-Regional Project Number 4 (IR-4) exemptions.
- Exemptions for federal agencies and state governments.
Specific requirements apply to each of these categories, such as number of employees and revenues for the small business waiver. Read the guidance for the category that you believe you may qualify for.
In addition, there are circumstances where part of the fee may be refunded. Generally, such refunds are related to withdrawal of the application or situations where EPA completed some of the work associated with the application as part of another application.
