Peer Review of EPA’s Draft Risk Evaluation for Di-isodecyl Phthalate (DIDP) and Draft Hazard Assessments for Di-isononyl Phthalate (DINP)
In May 2024, EPA released for public comment and peer review the draft risk evaluation for Di-isodecyl phthalate (DIDP) and the draft hazard assessment for Di-isononyl phthalate (DINP) prepared under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). EPA held a virtual public meeting for the Science Advisory Committee on Chemicals (SACC) to consider and review these draft documents from July 30 - August 1, 2024. View the SACC meetings using the links found in the "Meeting Viewing Information" box on the right.
On October 2, 2024, EPA released the meeting minutes and final report for this meeting. The documents are posted in docket EPA-HQ-OPPT-2024-0073.
EPA also held a preparatory virtual public meeting on July 23, 2024, for the SACC and the public to consider and ask questions regarding the scope and clarity of the draft charge questions for the review. View the preparatory meeting. Based on the discussions during the preparatory meeting, EPA revised the charge questions for the SACC meeting. View the revised charge questions.
On May 24, 2019, EPA received manufacturer requests to conduct risk evaluations for DIDP and DINP under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). In December 2019, EPA notified the requesters that the Agency had granted their manufacturer requested risk evaluations. EPA will be soliciting comments from the SACC on the novel approaches used, the unique exposure analyses and other calculations, and selection of key hazard endpoints. The SACC’s peer review will inform the Agency’s final risk evaluations and risk management decisions under TSCA.
