Resources About the Lower Passaic River

Intro to the Lower Passaic River Presentation

The Lower Passaic River UWFP has developed a slide deck with background environmental information about the watershed, as well as federal projects. The slides cover the watershed’s geography and land use, public access, sediment contamination, water quality, trash and floatable pollution, navigation, and flooding and resiliency. All of the data shown in the slide deck, as well as contact information for the relevant federal projects, are available herelink.

Public Participation in Federal Flood Risk Projects

These slides, created as part of the Partnership’s Community Involvement Workshops, outline the ways the public can provide input into U.S. Army Corps of Engineers civil works projects, specifically flood risk mitigation and environmental restoration, through the NEPA process. Available here.

About the Lower Passaic River Community Advisory Group

This presentation gives the history of the Lower Passaic River Superfund Community Advisory Group, which provides ongoing input to EPA about the cleanup of the river.  It is intended for members of the public hoping to learn how to get involved with the CAG’s efforts.

Resources from the February 2018 Riverwide Meeting

The welcome presentation delivered at the February 6th, 2018 Riverwide Meeting highlights the role the UWFP can play in helping a public newly engaged by access expansions to opportunities to participate in the cleanup.

The results from breakout groups identifying challenges and opportunities on the river with respect to the Partnership’s program areas are available here.

Background Documents about the Lower Passaic River UWFP

These documents describe the work of the Lower Passaic River UWFP as of its inception in 2013, with an update in September 2015, and August 2017
