Geographic Programs

EPA administers 12 Geographic Programs (Geos).  These programs are long-standing, geographic specific programs that help protect local ecosystems and communities from climate change, habitat loss and pollution. The work varies significantly by program and generally includes, but is not limited to, ecosystem and habitat restoration, water quality improvement and water quality monitoring, nutrient reduction, climate resilience, environmental education and outreach, and local capacity building.
