Content Requirements:

  • Event pages must include a contact name and email address and/or phone number to contact for more information about the event.
  • Use a descriptive title for your event page. Page titles must be unique.
  • Write event descriptions using Federal Plain Language Guidelines, avoid using EPA or industry jargon and spell out acronyms.
  • If registration is required for your event, you have four options to capture registration information:
    1. Use an EPA WebCMS-hosted webform and follow the Web Standard: Web Forms.
    2. Use a third-party website that your office has a paid, contractual account with (for example, PFAS Community Engagement Sessions).
    3. Use a service that has a government-level agreement for use (i.e. Zoom for Government)
    4. Use a third-party service that EPA has a signed terms of service agreement with EPA (for a free account).
  • Follow the EPA Event/Webinar Registration Guidance if you require event registration for your event including required reasonable accommodation and privacy statements.
  • Any closely related content to the event should be put on a basic page and linked from the events page. Include links to the event page from any basic page that contains closely related content.
  • At the end of the 90 day content review cycle, event pages should be unpublished. If the page needs to remain live, you should republish the page.

About this Standard
