2025 Interim Final Rule to Extend Compliance Deadlines
July 28, 2025 -- EPA took an important step in unleashing the Nation’s domestic energy supply by extending several compliance deadlines in the Biden-Harris Administration’s Clean Air Act rules for the oil and natural gas industry - commonly known as OOOOb/c. In an interim final rule, EPA is providing more realistic timelines for owners and operators of new and modified oil and natural gas sources across the country. In addition, the agency is giving states additional time to submit plans under the 2024 Emissions Guidelines to limit methane emissions from hundreds of thousands of existing oil and natural gas sources across the country.
