Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)

Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) is sensitive but unclassified information that requires safeguarding and dissemination controls pursuant to law, regulation, or Government-wide policy.

The transition to CUI is a unified effort, mandated for all agencies across the Federal government. EPA's CUI Program will enable the safe, timely, and consistent sharing of information throughout the Federal government and with non-Federal stakeholders.
