Update to the Community-Focused Exposure and Risk Screening Tool (C-FERST)

Update on C-FERST

EPA’s Community-Focused Exposure and Risk Screening Tool (C-FERST) will remain available for public use via the EPA Web Archive but will no longer be updated.

C-FERST has been archived in EPA’s public Web Archive and can be found at: https://archive.epa.gov
To access the tool, type “C-FERST” in the search box of the EPA Web Archive and hit the “Search” button.

Select maps and functions formerly in C-FERST can be found in EPA’s EnviroAtlas at:  www.epa.gov/enviroatlas

  • The EnviroAtlas Interactive Map contains data such as EPA Regulated Facilities, Impaired Waters, and demographic datasets. The 2014 National Air Toxics Assessment (NATA) data will also be incorporated into EnviroAtlas by October 2019.
  • Most of the data and functionality of the C-FERST Community Data Table will be available October 2019 in the EnviroAtlas Interactive Map via the Compare My Area Tool, which allows users to compare conditions in their area with their county and state averages. Learn more here: www.epa.gov/enviroatlas/compare-my-area-tool

About the archived C-FERST:

The archived C-FERST provides access to resources that can help communities learn more about their environmental issues and risks; and explore exposure and risk reduction options. The tool includes reports, fact sheets, links to other environmental and public health tools, information about other community projects, and structured guides to help communities plan their projects to assess local environmental conditions. Find the archived C-FERST in EPA’s Web Archive at: https://archive.epa.gov
