Summary

EPA regulates storage and disposal of polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) waste under the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA). All facilities that treat, store or dispose of PCBs are required to obtain a TSCA approval (permit) from EPA. US Ecology Idaho, Inc. currently manages PCB wastes at its facility near Grand View, Idaho, under an EPA-issued TSCA approval.

This facility stores, treats, and disposes of PCB wastes in addition to hazardous wastes and non-hazardous industrial material.

EPA issued a TSCA approval for this facility on September 29, 2022, and has issued modifications since then. This approval authorizes the facility to dispose of non-liquid PCB waste in landfills, and to process, treat, and temporarily store PCB-containing wastes prior to disposal.
