Gold Standard Science Guidance from The White House

EPA has an important mission to protect human health and the environment. The agency recognizes the critical importance of scientific integrity and Gold Standard Science in scientific activities, including research, applied science, and the use of environmental information and data as part of performing EPA’s statutory functions. EPA is committed to upholding the principles of Gold Standard Science to ensure that EPA’s decisions and policies are informed by the most credible, reliable, and impartial scientific evidence available. 

Gold Standard Science Reports 

EPA’s Gold Standard Science Report is submitted regularly to OSTP in response to their implementation guidance, as required by the executive order on Gold Standard Science.

EPA’s 2026 Gold Standard Science Report illustrates EPA’s continued commitment to Gold Standard Science.

2025 EPA Gold Standard Science Report 

EPA’s first Gold Standard Science Report outlines how the Gold Standard Science tenets are reflected in EPA’s culture, funding opportunities, budget and resource allocation, award selection, and other agency actions.
