Tribal NSR Virtual Training Series

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is holding a series of virtual trainings to educate tribal, small business, and industry professionals about the New Source Review (NSR) preconstruction air permitting program as it applies in Indian Country with a focus on the preconstruction air permitting requirements that apply to minor sources of air pollution in Indian Country. The NSR preconstruction permitting program establishes the air permitting requirements that facility owners and operators must follow before constructing a new facility or modifying an existing facility that meets the applicability requirements of the program. On July 01, 2011 the EPA finalized a rule titled: “Review of New Sources and Modifications in Indian Country” to fully implement these air permitting requirements in Indian Country, including the permitting requirements that apply to minor sources of air pollution. EPA is now offering tribal, small business, and industry professionals a virtual learning series on these requirements after more than 10 years of implementation of this air permitting program. The virtual trainings are being recorded and presented in five modules according to the following schedule. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions at the end of each module and the questions session will not be recorded. All trainings are from 1 pm to 2pm EST. The meeting links are on Teams and available for public use without the need for Teams software on attendees computers. Further, call in numbers with password id are also provided for those with internet access issues or audio problems on the Teams online meeting.

**NOTE: If you are opening the online meeting link on a smart phone, you will be prompted to download the Teams app for Android and Apple phones and will need to create an account and login which we recommend you do a couple of days prior to the meeting.

If you have any questions about these series of virtual trainings, please contact Ben Garwood at garwood.ben@epa.gov (919-541-1358) or Jessica Montanez at montanez.jessica@epa.gov (919-541-3407).
