Definitions

There are three Contact Us links on each EPA page. The Contact Us link for your web area appears twice: at the top and directly above the footer. It links to the web area Contact Us page, which provides information about how to contact EPA staff responsible for the web area content.

Note: The third link is a Contact EPA link in the footer of the template for each page that links to the main EPA Contact Us page. This link requires no action.

Content Requirements

  • Contact Us links are required at the top and bottom of every EPA Web page. Both links must point to the same Contact Us page.
  • Both Contact Us links are automatically added to pages in the WebCMS. 
    • The top link reads: “CONTACT US”
    • The bottom link reads: “Contact Us to ask a question, provide feedback or report a problem.”
  • Do not include links to the Contact Us page anywhere else on your homepage or in your sidebar navigation.
  • Public facing content outside the WebCMS must have Contact Us links.

About this Standard

All EPA public web content must adhere to all federal requirements including; the EPA Web Standards, the U.S. Web Design System guidelines, federal plain language guidelines, and the 21st Century Integrated Digital Experience Act. Internal content, including Intranet and Microsoft 365, may differ from the public content. If not explicitly stated, content must adhere to all federal requirements.
