Super Typhoon Sinlaku Response
In response to Super Typhoon Sinlaku, EPA has received a mission assignment from the Federal Emergency Management Agency. EPA water specialists are on the ground in Guam and the Northern Marianas. EPA has completed assessments of available drinking water systems on CNMI, and the agency is collaborating with local authorities to restore safe, reliable drinking water as quickly as possible. EPA is providing scientific support to agencies tasked with ensuring safe water is available across Saipan; this work includes sampling restaurant drinking water and evaluating drinking water at emergency shelters.
Boil water notices remain in effect for parts of Saipan, Tinian, and Rota. Bottled water is available at shelters and community sites, and public filling stations are open in Saipan.
