    Today, EPA began oversight of the removal of lithium-ion batteries from the Moss Landing, California battery energy storage facility impacted in a January 2025 fire, marking the start of an unprecedented battery cleanup effort.

    EPA settlements will also close additional smaller cesspools in Kauai

    Today, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced settlements with Grove Farm Company, Inc. and The Gas Company, LLC (doing business as Hawaii Gas) to close a total of eight illegal large-capacity cesspools and other cesspools in Lihue, Kauai.
