Alert
Alert Super Typhoon Sinlaku Response

In response to Super Typhoon Sinlaku, EPA has received drinking water and wastewater assessment mission assignments from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). EPA water specialists are on the ground in the Northern Marianas and Guam.

EPA has completed assessments of available drinking water systems on Saipan, Tinian, and Rota, and is working with local authorities to restore safe, reliable drinking water as quickly as possible. EPA is providing scientific support to local agencies tasked with ensuring safe drinking water is available across Saipan; this work includes sampling drinking water at restaurants, shelters, schools, drinking water purveyors, and temporary drinking water treatment locations.

Boil water notices remain in effect for Saipan and Tinian. Bottled water is available at shelters and community sites, and public filling stations are open in Saipan, Tinian, and Rota.
