Request for Public Comment on CWA FCA Guidance

EPA is seeking public input on its Clean Water Act Financial Capability Assessment (FCA) guidance. Using public feedback, EPA will consider updating the agency’s guidance to better reflect ratepayers’ ability to support infrastructure upgrades, potential impacts on rural and small communities, and other related topics. EPA will accept comments through May 26, 2026, via Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OW-2026-1090.

Proposed Qualifying Process for Conservation Programs and Experts

EPA is seeking public comment on a proposed process to review and qualify conservation programs and experts that have technical expertise in runoff and erosion measures. Comments can be submitted to docket ID EPA-HQ-OPP-2025-1906. Comments must be received on or before April 6, 2026.

Proposed Primacy to CO to Protect Underground Water Resources

EPA is proposing approval of Colorado’s request to administer permitting for Class VI underground injection wells (UIC) under the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). EPA is accepting public comment through May 4, 2026 on whether Colorado’s proposed UIC program meets all requirements for approval and that the state will implement and enforce the program consistent with the SDWA.

EPA Releases New Farmer and Rancher Inquiry Tool

EPA has released the Farmer and Rancher Inquiry Tool – What Laws and Regulations Apply to You? to help bridge the gap between EPA, farmers, and ranchers! The farmers and ranchers can learn about EPA program offices, the laws and regulations they implement, and for each of the offices, the environmental requirements that may apply to crop, livestock, and grazing operations.
