  • EPA Seeks Public Comment on Draft Guidance for Reducing Risk from PFOA and PFOS in Biosolids

    EPA is releasing draft guidance to help wastewater utilities, landowners, and the public reduce risk from PFOA and PFOS in biosolids. EPA will solicit comment on the draft guidance for 60 days following publication in the Federal Register. Once the notice is published, comments can be submitted using Docket ID No. EPA-HQ-OW-2026-2509.

  • EPA Launches Challenge to Help Farmers Grow Food with Fewer Chemicals

    EPA announced an opportunity for the public to help shape a national innovation challenge with up to $30 million in total prize funding. The challenge will support practical, cost-effective alternatives to conventional chemical crop desiccation. Instructions for submission and additional details can be found under docket number EPA-HQ-OPP-2026-3862.

  • EPA Invests to Improve Drinking Water in Small and Rural Communities

    EPA is announcing more than $25 million in grant funding to improve drinking water infrastructure in small and rural communities with needed resources to make critical drinking water infrastructure upgrades, combat exposure to Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), remove sources of lead, and address specific local drinking water challenges.

  • Grant Funding for Wastewater Technical Assistance Providers

    EPA announced the availability of $25.5 million in grant funding for technical assistance providers to help small, rural, and Tribal communities address wastewater infrastructure challenges to protect human health and comply with the Clean Water Act. EPA is accepting applications from water technical assistance providers until August 14.
