RSEI Data Dictionary: Releases Data
The following tables provide descriptions for each field in each table. Note that for the Geographic Microdata, "Other Geographies" includes block groups, census tracts, and ZIP code files. For more information, see the RSEI methodology document and the RSEI Microdata documentation.
This table contains data for each chemical release. There can be multiple release records per submission record.
The Submissions, Releases, and Elements tables are too large for spreadsheet format.
This table is from RSEI Version 2.3.12 (RY 2022) and cannot be used with tables from any other version.

| ReleaseNumber | Unique internal identifier. |
| SubmissionNumber | Unique internal identifier (links to Submission table). |
| Media | Code associated with the media and/or method of release, as reported by facility in TRI Reporting Form R. See Media table for explanation of codes. |
| PoundsReleased | Total pounds released, without accounting for treatment. |
| OffsiteNumber | Unique identifier for off-site facility receiving this release, if any. Links to Facility Number in the Off-site table. |
| TEF | Toxicity Equivalency Factor used to adjust toxicity for dioxins. |
| TEFSource | Source for the TEF, either as reported by the facility or a median taken from reports in the same NAICS code. |
| DCN | Unique identifier assigned by TRI to each facility submission (document control number). |
| TransferLocNum | Sequence in which an off-site location is reported on a Form R. The number is unique within a DCN. |
| OffsiteAmountSequence | Sequence in which an off-site transfer amount is reported with an off-site location on a Form R. TransferLocNum + OffsiteAmountSequence is unique within a DCN. |
| WaterAmountSequence | Identification number assigned to the release to water record. The number is unique within a DCN. |
