Five-Year Reviews of Superfund Site Cleanups and Remedies in EPA Region 2 (New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands)
EPA evaluates cleanups of Superfund sites, including federal facilities, on the National Priorities List, every five years to ensure that the systems in place are operating properly, that the current cleanup methods are still the best approach for the sites and contaminants, and that the approach protects human health and the environment.
EPA documents the methods, findings, and conclusions of reviews in the five-year review report. EPA also documents issues found during the review, if any, and recommendations to address them. Read more about five-year reviews.

Community members and local officials are invited to call or write EPA with any comments or concerns about a Superfund site, or about the conclusions of previous five-year reviews at a site.
