EFAB's Water Affordability Report Webinar

In June 2025, EPA hosted a webinar to highlight the water affordability deliverable received by its Environmental Financial Advisory Board (EFAB). The report, Advancing Water Affordability Nationwide: A Framework for Action (January 2025) (pdf) (2 MB) , provides a high-level framework of considerations, reflecting the various points at which utilities can address water affordability issues in their decision making and financing processes.

Water Affordability Stakeholder Listening Sessions

In March and April 2024, EPA hosted six targeted Stakeholder Listening Sessions to gather input from an array of experts in the water affordability field Participants included water utilities and associations, non-governmental organizations, and community-based organizations.

In June 2024, EPA hosted a broader-scale public listening session to hear from communities, utilities, and other interested parties. Participants shared their experiences, perspectives, and ideas regarding water affordability challenges and recommendations.

EPA obtained a wealth of information and recommendations from these sessions. Notes from these listening sessions are linked below:
