West Coast Collaborative: Partnering to Reduce Diesel Emissions
On this page:
  • Background
  • Programs
  • Project Fact Sheets

Background

EPA funds diesel emissions reduction projects throughout the West Coast region as part of its collaborative efforts with West Coast Collaborative (WCC). The most longstanding grant program EPA has administered is the Diesel Emissions Reduction Act (DERA) authorized by the 2005 Energy Policy Act. As stipulated in the Act, this funding is appropriated towards both national competitive grants (National DERA) as well as state, territory, and tribal allocations (State DERA and Tribal DERA).

Programs

EPA is currently administering three temporary programs that aim to reduce diesel emissions in the US. Visit the following program pages to learn more:

  • Clean School Bus Program
  • Clean Ports Program
  • Clean Heavy-Duty Vehicles Program

WCC has administered other grant programs in the past along with a variety of other DERA projects.

If you’d like to learn more about any of these older projects, please contact us.

Project Fact Sheets

Recent DERA project fact sheets are available below, organized by sector, state, year, funding program, and grantee.

Events

Upcoming events will appear here when available.

Newsletter

WCC maintains a monthly newsletter called The Communicator that shares relevant resources, funding opportunities, news, and tools to subscribers to help share diesel emission reduction information. Outside of our newsletter, WCC also sends out occasional messages to keep our subscribers up to date.
