Fiscal Year 2027 Brownfields Job Training Grants
EPA anticipates making funds available for eligible entities, including nonprofit organizations, to implement Brownfields Job Training programs. These initiatives will focus on recruiting, training and placing local residents who are unemployed or underemployed, equipping them with the essential skills to secure full-time positions in the environmental sector.
Individual FY 2027 Brownfields Job Training grant awards are anticipated to be for up to $300,000, with a project period of performance of up to three years. The total funding amount that is anticipated to be made under this announcement is $5,000,000 – $6,000,000.
The following threshold criteria are anticipated to apply to the FY 2027 Brownfields Job Training Grants competition:
- Applicants who were awarded an EPA Brownfields Job Training Grant (EPA-I-OLEM-OBLR-25-01) in Fiscal Year 2026 are not eligible to apply under this competition under any circumstance, even if the applicant proposes to serve a different city or target area.
- Current EPA Brownfields Job Training Grant recipients must have received payment from EPA (also known as "drawn down"), and drawn down funds have been disbursed, for at least 50.00% of the funding for each Brownfields Job Training cooperative agreement by July 1, 2026, in order to apply for funding under this solicitation.
