Typhoon Mawar Story Map

EPA’s Pacific Southwest (Region 9) implements and enforces federal environmental laws in Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, the Pacific Islands, and 148 Tribal Nations.

EPA has completed its Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) mission assignments to support the restoration of water infrastructure, including both safe drinking water and wastewater systems, and the collection and proper disposal of hazardous waste and oil on Guam.

The Typhoon Mawar Story Map describes the typhoon’s impacts to Guam and EPA’s emergency response activities to ensure functional and safe drinking water systems, and to establish safe collection and disposal of hazardous waste.
