Previous WaterSense Labeled Products
Due to changes in efficiency standards, technology, or the marketplace the WaterSense program may need to sunset a product specification. Closing out a specification allows WaterSense to direct its resources to address other products and practices that will save water. Transferring the program’s rigorous water efficiency and performance criteria to a national standard is a major accomplishment for WaterSense and its stakeholders in the water efficiency community. EPA looks forward to continuing to support market transformation for other efficient water-using products.
Ineligible Product Categories and Other Water-Efficient Products
Not all water-using products are eligible to earn the WaterSense label. Ineligible product categories include public lavatory faucets, kitchen faucets, clothes washers, dishwashers, water softeners, ice machines, and water heaters.
- More information on product categories that are ineligible for the WaterSense label can be found on the Ineligible and Incorrectly Labeled Products page.
However, water efficiency doesn’t stop at the WaterSense label! EPA encourages consumers to consider efficiency when shopping for any water-using product, even if it doesn’t fall within a product category that WaterSense labels.
